2011 Monster Series FAQ for Volunteers E-mail

1. What races are currently in the series this year?

2. What is the breakdown for bones prices?

See Volunteer Bones prices  here.

3. What are the series incentives?

See Monster Series information for details.  See Bones "prices" for Series Incentive price.

4. What are the key dates I need to know?

  • December 1 (First regular price increase for the series)
  • December 7 (Bones Race Redemption Request Form is available)
  • December 15 (Second regular price increase for the series)
  • December 15 (Bones Race Redemption Request Form Deadline for submission
  • January 1 (Monster Series Registration Deadline)

5. What if I only have enough bones to register for 1, 2, 3, or 4 races and not the full series?

You are still eligible to register for the full series by using both bones and cash as payment. However you will need to use either bones or money for each individual event you register for within the series (i.e. if you can only register for the Get Lucky 7K using bones you will need to have the 9000 bones required for that race. You can then pay cash for the other events).

6. How do I register using two forms of payment (bones and cash) for the series?

You should register separately for the races you are paying cash with, preferably before the price increases on December 1st, and December 15th. We will be distributing codes for bones redemption per race after December 15th when the codes become available to us.

7. Can I register for multiple races using bones at the same time?

You will only be able to register for one race at a time when you are using bones redemption codes as your purchasing method. This is because the system only accepts one code per transaction. You will need to re-log back into the registration system for every race you are purchasing with bones. The codes for each individual race will be different.

8. Do I have to re-enter all my information every time I log back in?

No, the good news is that the system will only prompt you for 2-3 key identifiers each time. It will not ask you to fill in all your information over and over again.

9. What if I qualified for a race deferral for next year and want to register for the additional races in the series before the deadline?

Contact us and find "Volunteering" in the dropdown to send us an email.  We will confirm if you have met all the race deferral requirements. If you have we will email you back a code to use to register yourself for the deferral race to ensure that you receive the series incentives.

10. How do I purchase the series incentive with bones?

The series incentive is an additional 10,000 bones. If you request this option on your bones redemption request form you will also get a code to register for this item. You will have to individually submit this request like you did with the individual races.

11. What if I have already registered for the series and now I want to use my bones?

We cannot refund races. You do however have the option to save your bones for the following year, transfer those bones to a friend or someone else wishing to join you at the race, using them to register for the Go Commando race which is not part of the series, or use them at any of our stores to redeem for Team Ortho gear.

12. Is there a deadline for registering for the series using bones?

Yes, the deadline for submitting bones race redemption requests is December 15th after the code is mailed to you, you will have to utilize it before the regular registration deadline of January 1, 2011.

13. Can additional races be added to the series and am I eligible to upgrade or downgrade?

Team Ortho reserves the right to add additional races to the series for 2011. Just like other participants you can upgrade to another race with the appropriate amount of bones for the increase plus a 2000 bones fee. You can downgrade a race as well by paying the 2000 additional bones. However you will not be refunded bones for the difference in race prices. (We are hoping to have an official form available for this type of request in the near future.)

14. Can I defer a race purchased using bones?

Volunteers are eligible to defer a race to the following year just like other participants. They have to complete an additional 5 hours of volunteering or redeem 5000 bones required for a deferral, but do not have to pay the deferral fee.

15. Can I get a refund on a race purchased with bones or transfer it to another event?

We do not allow for refunds on races purchased with bones and we do not allow switching to another event. We do however offer the same race deferral option as other participants.

16. What are the Race Redemption Guidelines?
