Safety is of the utmost importance to our racers. Whether you're a first-timer, a casual runner or an elite runner, everyone must take this information very seriously when running on race day.
Here is important information you should know for the Minneapolis Marathon, Half and 5K.
- Sag wagons will follow the 6 hour pacer and be available on the course for runners who choose not to continue. Your race bib number will be recorded upon boarding. Any competitor who boards a sag wagon will not be allowed to rejoin the race.
- The Backcountry Trail Patrol Association will be ensuring the safety of the runners on the course along with First Aid Responders. Look for the red first aid flags if you need medical assistance.
- The Minneapolis Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K all follow USATF rules; including the acceptance of iPods and other headsets during competition.
- For the safety of yourself and the other participants, baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, and unauthorized bicycles are prohibited from the course.
- If you do not complete each prescribed segment of the race, do not cross the finish line. Your timing chip is disposable. You do not need to return it.
- The race director, officials, coordinators and volunteers ask all participants to be as kind and respectful as possible. Enormous effort has gone into assuring that each and every competitor has a safe, fun race. Abusive language and unsportsmanlike behavior can result in disqualification.
