March Madness! Become Facebook Fan and Help Haiti too! |
More than one month after the deadly earthquake in Haiti, orthopaedic experts with connections to Team Ortho Foundation, have been volunteering at the Healing Hands for Haiti clinic, their mission is to literally get patients back on their feet, a service even more desperately needed since the earthquake.
Dan Fitzpatrick has been in Haiti helping people with orthopaedic needs. He stopped for a quick moment to thank Team Ortho Foundation for all it has contributed to Healing Hands for Haiti, by showing off his Team Ortho socks in a quick photo opp! And then it was back to work! We are proud to help Dan and his organization.
That’s where Facebook comes in. Team Ortho Foundation is in the process of our March Madness incentive to encourage Every Body on Facebook to join the Team Ortho Foundation fan page – because we are exceeding our 5,000 cap on our group page! Team Ortho Foundation will donate $2.00 to the orthopaedic effort in Haiti for each person who signs up on our fan page between now and March 20, 2010.

Get Lucky Donation |
Team Ortho Foundation is proud to announce that we handed over our first donation check from proceeds from the Get Lucky!7K.
$1.00 for each registered runner was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to partially support Kieran Folliard's commitment to send a boy to the World Cup in South Africa. Folliard owns several restaurants in the Twin Cities area, including Kieran's Irish Pub which is sponosoring our Get Lucky race on March 20th.
"We are proud to support Kieran's impressive effort to help this family, " Executive Director John Larson said. "This donation is possible because of our incredible support from our participants."
Kieran's will be hosting a party at their new Irish Pub location at Block E following the Get Lucky.
Team Ortho Foundation donates money to various charities in the area at each race. With this contribution, Team Ortho Foundation has donated nearly $120,000 to charities in the last four years.

First Training Run for the 2010 Mpls. Marathon! |
Team Ortho Foundation was psyched up and ready for our first training run of the season for the Minneapolis Marathon! Not only were we excited to see our friends and fellow Team Ortho runners, but starting this training MUST mean spring is right around the corner!
It was an overcast, but nice February day for our training run. About 70 people joined us for the 5 mile run on February 20th, 2010. The training route followed the first part of the Marathon course. Before the run started many people earned a Minneapolis Marathon knit running hat by telling Caleb why they run or what inspires them to run! See the inspiring video on Facebook here.
